Yesterday I got to spend the day exploring Cape Lo Yesterday I got to spend the day exploring Cape Lookout and Shackleford Banks with a group of students—wild horses, wind-swept dunes, clear water, and endless skies. North Carolina always leaves me in awe of its beauty! If you’ve never visited, you can take a short 15 min ferry from Harkers Island and spend the day exploring the islands! Pack plenty of water and snacks and spend your time exploring shells and tidepools. A good camera is great for spotting wild horses on Shackleford. The crab tasted even better since we spent a couple hours doing manual labor and moving things for the contractors to start tomorrow on the new deck 🙌
Tonight ❤️ Tonight Mom came over to celebrate Tonight ❤️ Tonight Mom came over to celebrate a belated Mother’s Day. We ate a tacos, gave simple gifts, watched Kade run around the house, enjoyed the sunset and watched some hockey. I’ve never been one of those girls that “dreamed” and planned out my life. I mean, sure, there were little daydreams; but I honestly never planned out my wedding or longed for the kids I’d have one day. But in all those “non-dreams” I always envisioned this. A life sitting here, on the deck, watching this sunset. My Mom blessed me with the ability to slow down and appreciate the natural world. I am so grateful, and I hope one day my own kid will have that same love and wonder- I think we’re well on the way!
