I decided to create a ‘beyond the nucleus’ of high school bulletin board to praise my students that have made the next step beyond high school. Since I teach science, the nucleus represents where they are at now, and the next step is becoming an ‘electron’ outside the nucleus.
In the center I made a collage of information about me and artifacts from high school and college. When a student determines where they are going to attend college (or post high school training) they get to add a square to the orbit.

Since creating this board I have had students come back to my class and tell me their post high school plans, or update their square. They take pride in where they have chosen to go to college- and I do too 🙂
