As someone who loves to travel, it is no surprise that my wishlists each year contain so many gifts for people who love to travel. Most travelers prefer experiences over possessions making them very difficult to buy for. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to give a great gift to the traveler in your life.

This holiday season I wanted to share some top gifts for travelers that can make your shopping even simpler and greatly improve their adventures! As someone who loves to travel, the best items are ones that are small sized and work great for multitasking.

Travel Comfort

Compression Socks

Compression Socks are #1 for me in travel comfort! If I don’t wear these socks on long  flights my legs look like balloons by the time we land! These socks also help circulation in your legs and can even help to prevent blood clots! I can’t recommend them enough!

Travel Pillow

A good travel pillow  for flighting is a must! There is nothing worse than waking up with a tweaked neck right before a vacation, or worse falling asleep on the stranger next to you. This one comes with a storage bag that makes it collapsable also! Pro tip- when you’re not sleeping with the pillow use it as a lumbar support to help your back on the long haul flights!

Travel Blanket

I have a hard time falling asleep without something to cuddle up with, so having a lightweight throw is so handy! There are so many great options for travel blankets, but I also like to use a Pashmina that can double as a wrap for a chilly night out!

If the traveler in your life ever packs bags then a luggage scale is a must! Mine has saved me hundreds of dollars in overage fee’s because I carry SCUBA gear all over the world! This one is tiny enough to travel with them while they’re flying so it can be used when you repack for the return trip!

The matching duffle  to my Briggs and Riley bag fits perfectly on top. I’ve used it as my carry on and personal item on more trips than I can count! It is large enough to fit laptops, camera’s and all your necessities, but also small enough to fit under the seat in front of you!

Technology for Travel

Tracking Device

One of my favorite travel, and everyday, practical devices is my Tile. They track your device through an app for whatever they are on, whether it is your keys, wallet, luggage or cat. When you’re traveling you’re more likely to misplace things just because you’re out of you’re everyday routine. These little devices are perfect for helping with that and would make a great gift for any traveler!

Adventure Gear

Reusable Water Bottle

A reusable water bottle is great for flying and when you get to your destination! I fill mine as soon as we get through security and then again at every refill spot we find along the journey! I’ve had my hydroflasks forever, long before they were popular, but they truly are great because they don’t leak under cabin pressure and keep the water cool for so long!

Water Bottle with Filtering Straw

A water bottle with a filtering straw makes a great gift for super adventurous travelers who frequently go to areas where tap water isn’t safe to drink, or who like to go camping or hiking. The LifeStraw bottle filters out nasty bacteria out of the water.

This could include ziplining, a food tour, a private plane or snorkeling experience, just to name a few! Buyagift is a similar company based out of the UK that allows you to choose a specific experience.

Hopefully this guide gives you some inspiration. What are your favorite travel items? Let me know in the comments below!
