One of the huge perks of my husband going back to school was that he started bartending as a way to work while he is in school. He’s learned how to make some pretty fabulous drinks, like this made from scratch margarita and the delicious Strawberry Mojitio, and our appreciation for a great craft cocktail has certainly increased!
One of our go to drinks at home has quickly become his made from scratch Margarita made from three simple ingredients! I like the fact that they don’t have all of the artificial ingredients and sugars that so many margaritas have!
All you need to make this delicious drink is tequila (we like to use Espolon), triple sec and lime juice. We love to serve this margarita in a rocks glass like this one instead of a margarita glass to make it feel a little fancier. A simple garnish with a salt rim and lime wedge is all you’ll need for an accent!
Step 1: Mix 6 count (about 3 oz) tequila, 4 count (2 oz) of triple sec and a 2 count (1 oz) of lime juice.
Step 2: Shake together in a martini shaker.
Step 3: Pour over ice and garnish with lime. Salted rim optional. Enjoy!

Made from Scratch Three Ingredient Margarita
Ingredients
- 3 oz Tequila 6 count
- 2 oz Triple Sec 4 count
- 1 oz Lime Juice 2 count
Instructions
- Combine Tequila, Triple Sec and Lime Juice in a shaker.
- Add ice and shake together.
- Pour over fresh ice and garnish with lime. Enjoy!
