In honor of closing yesterday I thought I would share some of the history of our home with you!
Where it all began: Spending a lot of their time at the beach, my grandparents wanted to build a beach house in the area. My grandpa convinced my grandma to purchase a plot of canal front land in coastal North Carolina.
The house was built in the early 1980’s. My family enjoyed the house for a long time before I was born- in fact my parents spent weekends here when they were first married.
I spent many summers in this house growing up with lots of fond memories. So, when my grandpa decided that it was time to sell the cottage in the late 1990’s I was very upset. He ended up selling the house to a couple, but the deal fell through (which I think was God’s way of looking out for my future).

I was so upset with the potential sale that it gave my dad the idea of buying the cottage as a rental property. So, he purchased the house from my grandfather.
As I was growing up my dad would often joke and tell me that I had to buy the cottage from him one day since I “made him buy it”. I don’t think my Dad actually thought I took him seriously until I started renting the house from him.

My grandfather has since passed away and my father is ready to sell the cottage! Now its my turn to purchase my dream home! While the house needs a lot of work it means so much more than that to me. It is my dream location and more importantly has so many wonderful memories of the amazing gentleman that was my grandpa and the great times spent here with family and friends.
And while buying our first home is definitely the most scary {overwhelming, adult} thing I’ve ever done, I couldn’t be more excited that I’m going to be living in a house I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little girl!
It's so amazing you have started this dream journey! So proud to call you my friend!! Xoxo

Sooo many good times and memories for me with family and friends at the Anchorage, and I am delighted that it will remain in the family. From your proud Uncle Jimmy.
